Fuel Prices Unchanged for April 2025

The government has decided to keep fuel prices unchanged for April 2025, citing the stability of oil prices in the international market.

The Energy and Mineral Resources Division confirmed that while fuel prices are reviewed monthly under the automatic pricing mechanism, the current rates will remain in place to ensure stability and affordability for consumers.

Under the current pricing structure, diesel will continue to be sold at Tk 105 per liter, while kerosene will also remain at Tk 105 per liter.

The price of octane will remain at Tk 126 per liter, and petrol will be available at Tk 122 per liter, with the prices effective from April 1, 2025.

The government’s pricing policy is designed to reflect changes in the global oil market while balancing affordability for consumers and the financial sustainability of state-run fuel suppliers.

Although international prices fluctuate, authorities have chosen to keep domestic rates unchanged, likely to shield consumers from potential economic burdens.

This decision is expected to provide relief to transport operators, farmers, and industries that rely heavily on fuel, as stable prices help control overall inflation.

Since transportation costs directly impact the prices of essential goods, maintaining steady fuel prices can prevent additional economic strain on the public.

However, some consumer rights groups may express concerns over the lack of price reductions if global oil prices have declined.

The Energy and Mineral Resources Division issued an official notice today confirming the decision.
