Customers can now pay their electricity bills at more than 2.5 lakh bKash merchant points across the country, in addition to using the bKash app and its 3.5 lakh agent points. This expanded service significantly enhances the accessibility and convenience of utility bill payments.
Almost all government utility bills can already be paid through the ‘Pay Bill’ option on the bKash app. With the integration of merchant points, users now have even more flexibility, especially in areas where agents or internet access may be limited.
The new service also creates added value for merchants, who can now offer electricity bill payment facilities alongside accepting digital payments for goods and services—further encouraging cashless transactions throughout Bangladesh.
bKash remains the country’s largest digital platform for paying a wide range of government fees, including electricity, water, gas, telephone, land-related services, passport fees, internet, and TV bills. New organizations are regularly being added to the biller list.
