Govt to unveil July Declaration at JS South Plaza this afternoon

The July Declaration will be presented before the nation at 5 pm today, says BSS report.

The declaration will be unveiled at a public gathering at South Plaza of Jatiya Sangsad (JS) Bhaban.

Bangladesh Television will broadcast the programme live, Chief Adviser’s Deputy Press Secretary Abul Kalam Azad Majumder said.

Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus is expected to be present on the occasion.

“The interim government has finalised the draft of the July Declaration. The July Declaration will be presented before the nation at 5 pm on Tuesday (August 5),” a handout said on Sunday.

A five-member delegation from the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), headed by its Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, will take part in the  July Declaration event to be held at Manik Mia Avenue in the capital today, the BSS added.

The other members of the delegation include BNP Standing Committee members Mirza Abbas, Dr Abdul Moyeen Khan, Nazrul Islam Khan, and Salahuddin Ahmed.

The decision was announced through a notice sent to the media by BNP Standing Committee member Salahuddin Ahmed.

Earlier on Monday, BNP’s Standing Committee held a meeting at the party chairperson’s office in Gulshan.

The meeting began at 8:30pm and concluded at 10:30pm. It was presided over virtually by BNP’s acting chairman Tarique Rahman.
