Rosatom highlights role of innovation in shaping nuclear future

Representatives of Rosatom State Corporation took part in the World Nuclear Association (WNA) Symposium, held recently in London.

The event, one of the world’s largest platforms for sharing expertise and discussing the future of nuclear energy, brought together global industry leaders. Rosatom’s delegation included Andrey Rozhdestvin, Director General of Rosatom Energy Projects; Polina Lion, Chief Sustainability Officer; and Ivan Dybov, Director of the Regional Center for Latin America.

In his presentation, “Building Nuclear Futures: Progress and Innovation Across National and Global Projects”, Rozhdestvin highlighted ongoing nuclear power plant construction initiatives at both national and international levels.

He stressed the importance of innovation in the nuclear fuel cycle, noting that Rosatom continues to expand the role of nuclear energy while contributing to climate goals both in Russia and abroad. “Thanks to continuous innovation, Rosatom provides its international partners with advanced solutions across all segments of the nuclear fuel cycle,” he said.

Polina Lion participated in the session “Energizing Action”, which focused on initiatives, innovations, and strategies for the sustainable development of nuclear power. She pointed to Rosatom’s global presence, saying: “Rosatom builds nuclear power plants in countries with very different economic conditions and cultures—Russia, Türkiye, Egypt, Bangladesh, Hungary, and others. What unites them is the strong demand for reliable and sustainable energy. We see firsthand how our projects improve people’s lives, and that inspires us to keep moving forward.”

Meanwhile, Ivan Dybov joined the session “Nuclear-Supplied Power: Applications Around the World”, where he outlined Rosatom’s experience in promoting multipurpose nuclear solutions for peaceful applications, with a particular focus on Latin America.
