Dhaka will host what organizers describe as South Asia’s largest discount festival this December, bringing together 250 local and international brands offering discounts of up to 75 percent.
The three-day Dhaka Discount Fest 2026 will be held from December 10 to 12 at the Bangladesh-China Friendship Conference Center (BCFCC) in Agargaon.
The announcement was made at a press conference at a city hotel on Tuesday. The event is being organised by Eventcomm, with Ventora Communications Ltd as the strategic partner and OPAS Communications Ltd as the public relations partner.
According to the organisers, brands and businesses from Bangladesh, India, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Bhutan, Nepal, Sri Lanka, the Maldives and several Asian and European countries are expected to participate in the festival.
Consumers will be able to purchase products and services at discounts of up to 75 percent, while selected brands will also offer flash sales and limited-time promotional deals.
Speaking at the press conference, Dr Md Taslim Amin Shovon, project director of Dhaka Discount Fest 2026, said the event aims to create a common platform connecting local and international brands with consumers while strengthening Bangladesh’s retail sector.
Head of Operations Shafiqul Islam said the festival would open new opportunities for retailers through greater consumer engagement, brand promotion and business networking.
The organisers said the event would also provide a platform for women-led enterprises to showcase their products before consumers, corporate buyers and distributors.
They added that businesses booking exhibition stalls by July 16 will receive a 50 percent early-bird discount.
Organisers said they plan to make the festival an annual event and expand it to other cities, including Chattogram, Rajshahi, Sylhet and Khulna, in 2027 before taking the initiative overseas in the future.
