Late Badiul Alam will live on through his work—senior journalists said while remembering the veteran reporter.
They described him as an honest, integrity, principled, dignity and truly professional journalist whose contribution to the field will be long remembered.
Speakers made these remarks at a memorial and doa mahfil (prayer gathering) organised by the Forum for Energy Reporters Bangladesh (FERB) on Thursday (October 30) at the conference room of the Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission (BERC).
BERC Chairman Jalal Ahmed attended the event as the chief guest. The memorial meeting, presided over by FERB Chairman Md. Shamim Jahangir, was addressed by BERC Members Md. Abdur Razzak, Syeda Sultana Razia, Mizanur Rahman, and Brig. Gen. (Retd.) Shahid Sarwar; FERB’s founding Executive Director Mollah M. Amzad Hossain; former Chairman Arun Karmakar; former Executive Director Sadrul Hasan; senior journalists Shaheen Chowdhury, Shahnaz Begum, Shahed Siddiqui, M.A. Noman, and Towhidur Rahman.
The meeting was conducted by FERB Executive Director Serajul Islam Siraj. Late Badiul Alam’s wife Mahbuba Alam and son-in-law Atiqur Rahman Suman also spoke at the event, sharing their memories and gratitude.
At the end of the program, FERB handed over a cheque of Tk 100,000 from the organization’s welfare fund and a memorial crest to the family of the late journalist.
