The independent regulator, Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission (BERC), has raised jet fuel tariffs for both domestic and international routes based on the Platts rate and prevailing international market prices.
As per the new adjustment, the tariff was increased by Tk 3.02 per litre to Tk 99.29 for domestic careers while the price has been increased by $0.0212 per litre to $0.6545 from US$0.6333 for international.
In accordance with Sections 34(4) and 34(6) of the Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission Act, 2003, and pursuant to a directive issued by the Commission on May 25, 2025, the Bangladesh Petroleum Corporation (BPC) and its affiliated marketing companies have been instructed to determine Jet-A1 fuel prices based on the Platts Rate and the corresponding LC settlement value.
The adjustment aims to ensure a transparent and internationally aligned fuel pricing mechanism.
The Commission noted that the average Platts Rate of the previous month—used for pricing in the following month—along with fluctuations in the international market and transportation charges, must be considered in setting Jet-A1 fuel prices.
Accordingly, since September 2023, BPC has been required to submit monthly reports analyzing changes in the Platts Rate, LC settlements, and associated costs.
Following a review of the latest report submitted on October 8, 2025, covering data from September 26 to October 4, 2025, the Commission finalized the Jet-A1 fuel prices for October 2025.
These revised prices came into effect at 12:00 AM on October 8, 2025.
