The regional phase of the bKash-Bigganchinta Science Festival has concluded with vibrant events in Sylhet and Khulna, aiming to foster curiosity and enthusiasm for science among school students.
Following successful rounds in Dhaka, Rangpur, Rajshahi, Chattogram and Barishal, the Sylhet and Khulna editions saw the participation of around 800 students from 52 schools. The festivals featured project exhibitions, quizzes, science discussions and interactive Q&A sessions, creating an engaging environment for young science enthusiasts.
Students from the two divisions showcased more than 32 innovative projects at events held at Scholarshome Majortila College in Sylhet and Saint Joseph’s High School in Khulna. Fourteen top science projects were awarded, while 42 quiz winners received prizes across two categories.
The Sylhet phase was inaugurated by Dr. Md. Sajedul Karim, Pro-Vice Chancellor of Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST), along with Principal Md. Fayzul Haque of Scholarshome Majortila College and several faculty members from SUST.
In Khulna, the festival was inaugurated by Dr. Najmul Alam, Vice Chancellor of Khulna Agricultural University, Headmaster Alfred Ranjit Mondal of Saint Joseph’s High School, and Executive Editor of Bigganchinta Abul Bashar.
Humayun Kabir, Executive Vice President and Head of Regulatory and Corporate Affairs at bKash, attended both events.
The regional festivals featured robotics exhibitions, science stalls, and interactive sessions with scientists, mathematicians, and authors, culminating in prize-giving ceremonies.
With the completion of the regional rounds, the national phase of the Science Festival will take place in Dhaka on October 31, where divisional winners in project and quiz categories will compete for top honors.
