EDOTCO, Tiger New Energy partner to launch greener telecom infrastructure

EDOTCO Bangladesh, the country’s leading telecommunications infrastructure provider, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with clean energy innovator Tiger New Energy Ltd to deploy sustainable power solutions for telecom towers, aiming to expand green connectivity and clean energy access across communities in Bangladesh.

The collaboration signals a major shift from conventional energy sources toward integrated renewable energy systems within the telecom sector. The initiative supports the national sustainability agenda by reducing carbon emissions, ensuring energy equity, and promoting uninterrupted connectivity.

Under the partnership, the companies will introduce innovative energy solutions including:

Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS): A subscription-based battery backup system ensuring stable telecom tower operations during power outages.

Battery Swapping Stations (BSS): Located at EDOTCO tower sites to facilitate rapid battery swaps for electric two- and three-wheelers, reducing charging time and promoting e-mobility.

Battery Charging Station Systems (BCSS): Easily accessible EV charging points for community vehicles like rickshaws and easy bikes, increasing the reach of clean power.

“This partnership is more than just a technological advancement; it’s a bold step toward a greener, more inclusive digital future,” said Sunil Isaac, Country Managing Director of EDOTCO Bangladesh. “By integrating clean energy with smart infrastructure, we are enabling sustainable connectivity and creating real impact in the communities we serve.”

Nicole Mao, Co-Founder and CEO of Tiger New Energy, stated, “Our collaboration with EDOTCO is about powering people. These innovative solutions not only reduce emissions but also democratize access to clean energy, driving shared progress.”

This first-of-its-kind initiative strengthens EDOTCO’s position as a leader in sustainable telecom infrastructure. As a subsidiary of Malaysia-based EDOTCO Group, the world’s sixth-largest tower company, EDOTCO Bangladesh continues to champion innovations like the Bamboo Tower, Hybrid Solar-Wind Tower, Spun Prestressed Concrete Tower, and Smart Pole Street Furniture—advancing its commitment to the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
