Grameenphone (GP) Academy, a free online learning platform of Grameenphone designed for young learners, has completed three years of operation, marking the milestone with a celebratory event held recently at a Dhaka hotel.
More than 450 students attended the programme, alongside senior Grameenphone officials and representatives of partner organisations.
At the event, the company highlighted the Academy’s achievements over the past three years.
The platform now hosts more than 237,000 students from over 167 educational institutions across the country. Of them, around 100,000 learners have successfully completed courses and received certificates.
The success of the Grameenphone Academy Freelancing Factory Programme was also showcased.
Fifty students from the initiative earned a combined income of USD 60,000 within a year, while two participants went on to establish their own agencies, reflecting the programme’s practical impact.
Grameenphone Academy also reported strong progress in its ‘AI Mission’, launched earlier this year to train 10,000 students in artificial intelligence within six months. Within three months of launch, more than 5,000 students have already completed AI-related courses.
Speaking at the programme, Grameenphone Chief Executive Officer Yasir Azman said digital and technological skills are crucial for Bangladesh’s future growth. He said the Academy aims to help build a future-ready workforce by offering time-relevant and engaging courses for young people.
The event featured a “CEO x CEO” session, where Yasir Azman interacted with Neel Nafis, founder of MZ Media, sharing insights on leadership and innovation.
An interactive discussion also took place between Grameenphone’s CHRO Sayeda Tahya Hossain and CMO Farha Naz Zaman.
The celebration included student recognitions, a sustainability-themed ‘Trashion Show’, and concluded with a live performance by popular singer Pritom Hasan.
