In a major step toward enhancing nationwide digital connectivity, leading telecom operator Grameenphone (GP), state-owned Teletalk, and infrastructure provider EDOTCO Bangladesh have signed a landmark tower-sharing agreement recently aimed at expanding network coverage and improving service quality across the country.
Under the partnership, EDOTCO will provide shared tower infrastructure to both Grameenphone and Teletalk, enabling faster network rollout, improved efficiency, and greater accessibility for millions of users. The collaboration is expected to strengthen Bangladesh’s digital ecosystem by optimizing resources and reducing duplication in network investments.
The agreement was signed by Yasir Azman, Chief Executive Officer of Grameenphone; Nurul Mabud Chowdhury, Managing Director of Teletalk; and Sunil Isaac, Country Managing Director of EDOTCO Bangladesh. Senior officials from all three organizations were present at the signing ceremony, including Tanveer Mohammad, Chief Corporate Affairs Officer, Grameenphone; Asif Naimur Rashid, Chief Business Officer, Grameenphone; S.M. Luthfullahil Mozid, Deputy General Manager (Regulatory & Corporate Relations), Teletalk; and Kazi Ayon Adnan, Key Account Manager, EDOTCO Bangladesh.
“Customers are at the heart of everything we do at Grameenphone,” said Yasir Azman, CEO of Grameenphone. “This collaboration will enable us to further strengthen network coverage and improve service quality nationwide. By sharing infrastructure, we can expand faster, operate more efficiently, and ensure that our valued customers remain seamlessly connected.”
Nurul Mabud Chowdhury, Managing Director of Teletalk, highlighted the importance of collaboration in achieving universal connectivity: “As a state-owned operator, our mission is to ensure affordable, nationwide coverage. This partnership strengthens our ability to expand efficiently and deliver better services to our subscribers.”
Calling the agreement a “significant industry milestone,” Sunil Isaac, Country Managing Director of EDOTCO Bangladesh, said, “This tri-party tower-sharing initiative optimizes national telecom resources, reduces the financial burden of network expansion, and accelerates progress toward Bangladesh’s digital transformation goals.”
The partnership reflects a shared commitment to building a digitally inclusive Bangladesh, ensuring that people across urban and rural areas benefit from improved network coverage, reliable connectivity, and access to digital services.
