Grameenphone has introduced 5G roaming services, allowing its customers to access next-generation mobile networks while travelling abroad.
The move enables subscribers with a 5G-compatible handset and a Grameenphone SIM to connect to 5G networks overseas using their existing roaming packages, without additional charges or new subscriptions. The service is initially available in Thailand, Malaysia, Norway, Sweden and Denmark, with further destinations expected to be added in phases.
The company said the upgrade would offer significantly faster internet speeds and lower latency, improving video calls, streaming, downloads and remote working for travellers.
Solaiman Alam, Chief Product Officer at Grameenphone, said the launch underscored the operator’s commitment to enhancing customer experience.
“As more people travel for business, education and leisure, this service ensures they remain connected with the speed, reliability and performance of leading global networks,” he said.
