Huawei announces ‘Seeds For The Future Bangladesh 2025’ winners

Huawei has announced the winners of the ‘Seeds For The Future 2025’ program in Bangladesh after three months of rigorous screening, training, and assessment.

The announcement was made at a ceremony held at Huawei South Asia Headquarters in Dhaka, where eight winners received crests and certificates.

They will soon travel to China for further training and international competitions, the company said in a press release on Saturday.

This year, around 3,000 applications were received, out of which 60 candidates were shortlisted for a comprehensive bootcamp.

The bootcamp provided intensive training in areas such as business development, cloud computing, digital power, 5G, and artificial intelligence (AI). Participants were evaluated through written exams, team projects, and presentations.

Following the initial phase, 21 participants advanced to the final round. Here, they received mentoring from both Huawei and external experts, and were required to develop innovative business proposals using ICT to create socio-economic impact. Their ideas were judged by a panel comprising academics, UNESCO officials, program alumni, and Huawei experts, who ultimately selected the top eight candidates.

The winners are: Syed Atif Ryhan (American International University – Bangladesh); Farisa Zaynah Zaman (North South University); Nafim Karim Khan (BRAC University); Md. Rezwan Ullah (BUET); Tasnia Iffat (University of Dhaka); Md. Safius Sifat (RUET); Nufsat Farooque (Islamic University of Technology) and Wasif Uddin (Islamic University of Technology).

Lin Hai, Vice President and Board Director of Huawei South Asia, opened the event. Dr. Susan Vize, Head of Office and UNESCO Representative to Bangladesh, attended as Chief Guest, as UNESCO is a strategic partner for the program in Bangladesh.

Lin Hai said, “Seeds For The Future is growing stronger in Bangladesh every year. It reflects Huawei’s long-term vision — ‘In Bangladesh, For Bangladesh’ — by developing local ICT talent and strengthening the digital ecosystem.”

Dr. Susan Vize remarked, “Huawei’s Seeds for the Future program is playing an important role in building the digital future of Bangladesh. The enthusiasm and skills of these young winners show their potential to lead the country towards a more prosperous future.”

Globally, the programme has impacted over 18,000 students from 141 countries and formed partnerships with more than 500 universities. In Bangladesh, the initiative has been held annually since 2014, now marking its 12th edition, continuing to offer valuable learning opportunities to the country’s youth.
