KGDCL and KAFCO sign gas sales agreement

Karnaphuli Gas Distribution Company Limited (KGDCL) and Karnaphuli Fertilizer Company Limited (KAFCO) signed a gas sales agreement today at Petrobangla headquarters in Dhaka.

The agreement is set to ensure uninterrupted natural gas supply to KAFCO, supporting the nation’s agricultural and industrial production growth.

Under the agreement, KGDCL will supply KAFCO with an average of 55 million cubic feet of natural gas per day (MMCFD).

This substantial supply will bolster KAFCO’s fertilizer production capacity, playing a critical role in strengthening national food security.

The agreement was signed by Kabir Uddin Ahmed, Company Secretary of KGDCL, and Khaja Saidur Rahman, CCO and Company Secretary of KAFCO, on behalf of their respective organisations.

The signing ceremony was presided over by Mohammad Saiful Islam, Secretary of the Energy and Mineral Resources Division. Among the distinguished attendees were Md. Fazlur Rahman, Chairman of BCIC; and senior officials from KGDCL, KAFCO, Petrobangla, and the Energy Division.
