Electricity supply from Unit-1 of the 1600MW Jharkhand plant resumed at full load in the early hours of Saturday, following the repair of a boiler tube leak, officials confirmed.
According to the official, synchronization of Unit-1 began at 6:15 PM on Saturday, and the unit reached full capacity by 2:00 AM. The Bangladesh Power Development Board (BPDB) received a maximum of 750MW of electricity from the unit during the night.
The plant had suspended power generation at midnight on Friday due to the leak.
“Unit-1 suspended electricity supply due to a boiler tube leakage that lasted for four days,” an official said.
He added that Unit-2 of the coal-fired, import-based plant also stopped supplying electricity at midnight on Friday.
“We hope to determine the timeline for repairs after the unit cools down,” the official added.
