US-Bangla Airlines has honored Najmun Nahar for her historic achievement of carrying the national flag of Bangladesh across 184 countries, marking a milestone in the country’s global representation.
The airline, the country’s largest private carrier, conferred on her the title “Flag Laureate of National Pride” at a ceremony held at its corporate office on Thursday, according to a release.
The recognition has been described as an extraordinary journey symbolising courage, unity and peace beyond national borders.
According to US-Bangla Airlines, Najmun Nahar is the first Bangladeshi to complete such a journey and also the world’s first Muslim woman to travel across so many countries while carrying her national flag.
Senior officials of the airline, including General Manager (Public Relations) Kamrul Islam and Head of Digital Marketing Mir Tajmul Hossain, were present at the event where a certificate of recognition was handed over.
US-Bangla Airlines said the honour reflects its commitment to recognising individuals who uphold national pride and global responsibility, adding that Najmun Nahar’s journey stands as an inspiration both in Bangladesh and internationally.
