Robi introduces ‘AI Space’

Bangladeshi mobile operator Robi Axiata has launched what it describes as the country’s first all-in-one artificial intelligence hub, giving customers access to several leading AI models through its My Robi app.

The new service, called Robi AI Space, has been developed in partnership with AI platform Every AI and brings services including ChatGPT, Google’s Gemini, Anthropic’s Claude and DeepSeek together under a single platform.

Customers can access the AI services through a premium subscription or selected AI bundle packages, with payments made through local mobile services rather than international payment systems.

The move is aimed at tackling one of the main barriers to the adoption of global digital services in Bangladesh, where credit card use remains relatively low. Robi said credit card penetration in the country stands at around 1.6%, making international payments difficult for many consumers.

Under the new system, users can buy AI tokens using local mobile data bundles and monitor their remaining balance directly through the Every AI interface. The arrangement is intended to remove the need for multiple overseas subscriptions and separate international payment accounts.

Robi said the service is particularly aimed at students, freelancers and entrepreneurs, who can use the tools for tasks including research, writing, business planning and everyday work.

The company said Robi AI Space is also intended to become the foundation of a wider AI ecosystem, bringing together a broader range of artificial intelligence-powered services designed for Bangladeshi users.

Ziad Shatara, Robi’s managing director and chief executive, said the launch would help address the country’s limited access to international digital services.

“With credit card penetration posing a structural hurdle, our market has long faced restricted access to global digital tools,” he said.

“By introducing this all-in-one AI platform through My Robi, we are bridging that divide.”

He added that the initiative was aimed at widening access to advanced digital technology and enabling young people and other users to make greater use of AI through existing mobile connectivity.
