The Bangladesh Semiconductor Industry Association (BSIA) has called for greater investment in skills, research and international collaboration as it seeks to establish Bangladesh as a competitive player in the global semiconductor industry.
The call was made at the association’s second annual general meeting (AGM), held at Gulshan Club in Dhaka on Saturday, with BSIA President M. A. Jabbar chairing the meeting.
In his opening remarks, Jabbar reviewed the association’s achievements over the past year and outlined its priorities for the coming period. He said BSIA would focus on developing a skilled semiconductor workforce, strengthening research and innovation, expanding international cooperation and increasing Bangladesh’s participation in the global semiconductor value chain.
The AGM considered five agenda items, including confirmation of the minutes of the first AGM held on 13 September 2025, adoption of the association’s annual report for 2025-26, approval of its accounts and auditor’s report, appointment and remuneration of the auditor for 2026-27, and other business.
Mojahedul Haque Abul Hasanat, BSIA vice-president for finance, presented the association’s accounts and auditor’s report for the 2025-26 financial year.
BSIA directors Munir Ahmed and Kamrul Ahsan Dewanjee also took part in the discussions.
Representatives from member companies including Neural Semiconductor Limited, Ulkasemi Private Limited, iTest Bangladesh Limited, Siliconova Limited, Dynamic Solution Innovators, Tafuri Technologies Limited, BALU Technologies Ltd, Prime Silicon Technology Limited, Cactus Materials Ltd, Kranti Associates Ltd, ACI Semiconductor Ltd, ADN Semiconductors Ltd and Silicon Array attended the AGM.
Members discussed the development of Bangladesh’s semiconductor industry, participation in major international semiconductor and technology events, expansion into global markets and the preparation of a comprehensive Semiconductor Industry Roadmap towards 2030 for submission to the government.
The association said the recommendations reflected a shared commitment among industry stakeholders to building a stronger, internationally connected and globally competitive semiconductor ecosystem in Bangladesh.
