Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus will discuss the tariff issue with the US administration, said Commerce Adviser Sheikh Bashir Uddin.
The adviser gave the outcome after an emergency meeting on US tariff issue at a press conference, convened by Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus, at the State Guest House Jamuna in Dhaka on Saturday evening.
He said the interim government will initiate efforts to reduce the trade gap by increasing the imports of some products, like soybean oil and cotton.
Meanwhile, Khalilur Rahman, high representative to the chief adviser, said there is nothing to be worried about the tariff imposed by the US.
Besides, the government has also remained engaged in discussions with US officials on the issue, he said.
