Bangladesh and Indonesia have discussed the supply of Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) and Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) as part of broader efforts to strengthen energy cooperation between the two countries.
The issue was raised during a courtesy meeting between Heru H. Subolo, former Indonesian Ambassador to Bangladesh and current Senior Advisor for Social, Cultural, and Human Development Affairs at Indonesia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Energy Secretary Mohammad Saiful Islam at the Ministry of Power, Energy, and Mineral Resources.
The meeting focused on enhancing bilateral cooperation in the energy sector and reinforcing long-term diplomatic ties.
Special emphasis was placed on energy collaboration, including detailed discussions on the supply of LNG and LPG to Bangladesh, as well as the construction of modern Single Point Mooring (SPM) terminals. These projects are expected to play a critical role in meeting Bangladesh’s growing energy demands and improving its energy infrastructure. Both sides expressed strong interest in concrete investments and joint ventures in the energy sector, hoping such initiatives would pave the way for new opportunities in the near future.
