The retail price of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) has been left unchanged for May.
The Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission (BERC) announced the decision on Sunday, stating that it would take effect from 6pm the same day.
In a statement, the regulator said the price of a 12kg LPG cylinder would remain at Tk1,940 for the month.
LPG prices were adjusted twice in April. On 2 April, the cost of a 12kg cylinder was increased by Tk387 to Tk1,728. It was then raised again on 19 April by Tk212, bringing the price to Tk1,940.
Meanwhile, the price of autogas has been slightly increased for May. The consumer price, including VAT, has been set at Tk89.52 per litre, up by Tk0.02.
Autogas prices were also revised twice in April. On 2 April, the price was raised by Tk17.94 to Tk79.77 per litre. A further increase of Tk9.73 on 19 April brought the price to Tk89.50 per litre.
