The Energy and Mineral Resources Division has appointed Md Ziaul Haque, Additional Secretary, as the acting Chairman of the Bangladesh Petroleum Corporation (BPC) through an additional assignment.
According to an office order issued on Sunday by the Energy and Mineral Resources Division (EMRD) under the Ministry of Power, Energy and Mineral Resources, Haque will perform the responsibilities of BPC Chairman alongside his existing duties until further notice.
The ministry said the additional assignment has been made to ensure the uninterrupted operation of the state-owned oil corporation while a permanent arrangement is in place.
The order specifies that Haque will continue in the role until a new directive is issued by the government.
The notification was issued with the approval of the competent authority and signed by Senior Assistant Secretary Sabrina Afrin Mustafa.
