The Power Division has dismissed what it described as misinformation being spread by certain individuals and groups over claims of excessive electricity bills.
In a statement, the division said all complaints relating to unusually high electricity bills had already been investigated and resolved in coordination with the country’s electricity distribution companies. It said there was therefore no basis for further speculation or confusion over the issue.
The statement urged any customer who believes they have been overcharged to submit a complaint, together with supporting evidence, to the relevant authority. It said such complaints would be thoroughly investigated and appropriate action taken where necessary.
The Power Division also called on the public to act responsibly and avoid circulating unverified information about electricity bills.
