Summit LNG supplying up to 550 MMCFD

Summit LNG Terminal began supplying approximately 110 million cubic feet per day (MMCFD) of regasified liquefied natural gas (RLNG) to Bangladesh’s national gas grid at 6:10 pm today, providing additional gas supply amid continuing shortages, says Summit LNG Terminal official statement.

The terminal is expected to gradually ramp up its supply to approximately 550 MMCFD by around 2:00 am on 15 August 2026.

The increased supply is expected to improve gas availability for industries, power generation and other consumers, supporting economic activity and easing pressure on Bangladesh’s energy system.

Summit LNG remains committed to maintaining safe and reliable operations and maximising gas delivery within the technical capacity of the terminal and the national transmission system.

Summit believes that an adequate and uninterrupted energy supply is essential to Bangladesh’s industrial growth, employment and wider economic development.

The company will continue to work closely with Petrobangla and the Government of Bangladesh to support the country’s energy security and help alleviate gas shortages.
