‘BPO Summit Bangladesh 2025’ being held on June-21-22

‘BPO Summit Bangladesh 2025’, the country’s largest and most prestigious summit of the business process outsourcing (BPO) industry, is going be held in Dhaka on June 21 and 22, aiming to reflect the transformation of Bangladesh with new potentials.

With the theme “BPO 2.0: Revolution to Innovation,” this year’s summit is poised to be an international event focused on customer service and experience as it will see participation from 30 domestic and international IT/BPO companies showcasing their products and services, organisers told a press conference held at the ICT Division on Thursday.

The sixth edition of the event will be held at Senaprangan venue, jointly organised by the Bangladesh Association of Contact Center and Outsourcing (BACCO), the ICT Division, and the Business Promotion Council under the Ministry of Commerce,n with strategic partnership from the Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC).

In his presentation, Musnad-e-Ahmed, joint secretary general of BACCO’s Executive Committee, highlighting the past summits and their achievements. Following this, the upcoming summit’s planned activities and programs were detailed.

A total of nine seminars and workshops on information technology will be held, where prominent international experts and ITES buyers will share their insights, positioning the summit as a world-class platform.

Career counselling workshops will introduce students to promising opportunities in the BPO industry, encouraging them to pursue attractive careers in the sector. As in previous years, a job fair will be held to collect CVs from interested candidates and offer employment opportunities to qualified individuals.

Recognizing freelancers as an integral part of the outsourcing industry, the summit will feature seminars on their challenges, opportunities, and success stories. A dedicated seminar on policy development for the ITES/BPO industry will discuss necessary amendments to existing policies and regulations, with participation from IT experts, senior government officials, and industry leaders.

Additionally, the summit will be graced by the presence of distinguished High Commissioners, Ambassadors, and relevant representatives from various foreign embassies in Bangladesh.

In his speech as the chief guest, Secretary of the ICT Division Shish Haider Chowdhury stated, “In this era of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, the information technology-enabled services (ITES) sector is emerging as one of the key driving forces of our economy. The BPO industry is opening up vast employment opportunities for our youth, offering immense potential to compete in the global market through skill and innovation.”

He said the government has already prioritized the ITES sector and is actively working to ensure its sustainable development through policy support, infrastructure development, and human resource capacity building.

An initiative like the BPO Summit Bangladesh marks a significant milestone in the growth of this sector, creating an international platform for the exchange of knowledge and experiences among local and international stakeholders, he noted.

“I firmly believe that this year’s summit will not only introduce us to new technologies and ideas but will also guide us toward a practical action plan to engage more of our youth in the BPO industry,” he stated further.

Director General of the Department of Information and Communication Technology Muhammad Anwar Uddin said, “We must raise awareness among our youth about the diverse career opportunities within the information technology sector and ensure they receive the necessary training to develop relevant skills.”

Chairing the press conference, BACCO President Tanvir Ibrahim said with over 400 member organizations, BACCO has created more than 85,000 jobs to date and is earning over $850 million annually.

BACCO is working toward its goal of creating 100,000 sustainable jobs and achieving USD 1 billion in annual revenue by 2025. I believe this year’s BPO Summit will play a pivotal role in achieving those targets, he added.

BACCO Secretary General Faisal Alim stated, Vice President Md Tanzirul Basher, Finance Secretary Mohammad Aminul Hoque, Directors Abu Daud Khan, Abdul Kader, Zayed Uddin Ahmed, Mehedi Hasan Zulfiqar, Sayma Shawkat, and Executive Director Lt. Col (Retd) MD Mahtabul Haq, among others, were present at the press conference.

To ensure the success of the event, BACCO is being supported by the Bangladesh ICT Journalist Forum (BIJF), Technology Media Guild Bangladesh (TMGB), and the Telecom and Technology Reporters Network (TRNB).
