The National Review Committee, formed by the Government of Bangladesh, has issued a public notice inviting complaints related to corruption in energy sector contracts.
These contracts were signed under the “Speedy Supply of Power and Energy (Special Provisions) Act, 2010” (amended in 2021). Individuals with relevant information or evidence can submit their complaints from October 4 to October 31, 2024.
The Interim Government has formed a National Review Committee to assess contracts signed under the “Speedy Supply of Power and Energy (Special Provisions) Act, 2010” (amended in 2021).
The public has been invited to submit complaints, especially regarding corruption within the power and energy supply sector, along with any relevant evidence or documentation. Complaints can be submitted via email from October 4 to October 31, 2024.
According to the official public notice, any individual with evidence related to corrupt activities by organizations involved in power and energy production or supply under the mentioned contracts can submit their complaints to the National Review Committee through the email na*********************@gm***.com . The committee may contact complainants, as well as the accused individuals or organizations, for further investigation.
The notice, signed by Mohammad Shafiullah, Information and Public Relations Officer at the Ministry of Power, Energy, and Mineral Resources, also stated that the committee will independently reach out to the relevant institutions and organizations for information and assistance in the review process. Furthermore, all television channels are requested to broadcast the notice as a scroll for public awareness.

The committee, however, formed by the Government of Bangladesh to review contracts under the “Speedy Supply of Power and Energy (Special Provisions) Act, 2010” (amended in 2021), held at the Biddut Bhaban on September 28, 2024, decided to collect documents and relevant information for 11 power plants.
Following this, the Ministry of Power, Energy, and Mineral Resources has instructed that all documents and information related to the Meghnaghat 583 MW Dual Fuel, Baghabari 200 MW HSD, Patuakhali 150 MW HFO, Mongla 100 MW, Ashuganj 150 MW HFO, Manikganj 162 MW HFO, Kodda 300 MW HFO, Sundarganj 200 MW, Lalmonirhat 30 MW, Sutiakhali 50 MW, and Godda power plants be provided to the committee.
