The Palli Karma-Sahayak Foundation (PKSF) has signed credit guarantee agreements with 11 banks and one financial institution under its Credit Enhancement Scheme (CES) to expand financing for small entrepreneurs.
The agreements were signed in Dhaka on Monday, enabling participating institutions to provide guaranteed loans worth at least Tk 2,800 crore in the 2026–27 fiscal year.
Under the scheme, banks will channel funds through PKSF’s partner organisations, which will then disburse loans to micro and small উদ্যোক্তা (entrepreneurs). PKSF will provide guarantees for these loans to reduce lending risks.
Speaking at the event, PKSF Managing Director Fazlul Kader said the initiative aims to integrate commercial banks more closely into financing programmes for low-income groups and small উদ্যোক্তা.
He noted that the scheme would help ensure proper utilisation of loans through close monitoring, while also supporting inclusive and equitable economic growth.
The signing ceremony was held at PKSF Bhaban in Agargaon, where senior officials from PKSF and participating banks formalised the agreements.
PKSF officials said the CES, launched formally on July 1, 2025, had already shown progress in its first year. Ten banks and one financial institution earlier signed agreements, disbursing around Tk 1,082 crore in loans through 26 partner organisations.
They expressed hope that the expanded partnerships would further improve access to finance for marginalised groups and small businesses across the country.
