Power Division opens control room to ensure uninterrupted supply during floods

The Power Division has established a dedicated control room to ensure uninterrupted electricity supply and customer service amid the ongoing flood situation across the country.

According to an official office order issued on July 12, 2026, the temporary monitoring hub has been set up on the 14th floor of Bidyut Bhaban at 1 Nawab Abdul Gani Road in the capital’s Ramna area.

The move comes as large parts of the country face inundation, disrupting electricity supply and leaving thousands of consumers without power. The newly opened control room will monitor the situation round-the-clock and coordinate rapid response efforts to restore services.

The control room will operate daily, including on public holidays, from 7:00 AM to 9:00 PM. Officials noted that emergency communication will remain active via mobile phones even after regular operating hours to handle any sudden crises.

Citizens and relevant stakeholders can reach the desk directly through the landline number 02-47120309 or the mobile number 01739000293.

Additionally, the on-duty team is directed to maintain seamless coordination with the Power Division’s integrated national hotline, 16999.

To manage operations efficiently, the ministry has deployed a structured daily roster of officers and staff members running from July 13 through July 31, 2026.

The order, signed by Senior Assistant Secretary Md. Masudur Rahman Masud, mandates that assigned personnel must immediately contact the focal points of respective power distribution companies to resolve any localized supply issues on the spot.

If a situation demands higher intervention, they are instructed to notify upper management instantly.

Furthermore, the directive strictly dictates that if any officer or staff member is unable to attend their shift due to unavoidable circumstances, they must independently arrange a substitute to ensure uninterrupted monitoring.
