Four-day REHAB Fair 2025 to kick off in Dhaka on Dec 24

The country’s largest real estate exposition, REHAB Fair 2025, will begin in the capital on December 24, aiming to revive momentum in the housing sector after a prolonged slowdown.

Organised by the Real Estate and Housing Association of Bangladesh (REHAB), the four-day fair will be held at the Bangabandhu China Friendship Conference Centre in Agargaon and will continue until December 27. A total of 220 stalls will feature at the event.

REHAB President Md Wahiduzzaman shared the details at a press conference held at the CIRDAP auditorium in Dhaka on Monday.

The fair’s inaugural session will take place at 11:00am on December 24, with RAJUK Chairman Engineer Md Riazul Islam attending as the chief guest and National Housing Authority Chairman Mosammat Ferdousi Begum as the special guest. The fair will be open to visitors from the opening day, and on subsequent days it will run from 10:00am to 9:00pm.

Organisers said both single-entry and multiple-entry tickets will be available, with all proceeds from ticket sales to be spent on corporate social responsibility initiatives for underprivileged people. Visitors will also have the chance to win attractive prizes through daily raffle draws.

This year’s fair features four diamond sponsors, seven gold sponsors, 10 co-sponsors, 14 building materials companies and 12 financial institutions. The diamond sponsors are Asian Town Development Ltd, Eastern Housing Ltd, Sheltech Ltd and Tropical Homes Ltd.

Addressing the press conference, REHAB President Wahiduzzaman said the fair would play a key role in restoring confidence in the housing sector. He noted that the recent gazette notification of the long-awaited Detailed Area Plan (DAP) and the Dhaka Metropolitan Building Construction Rules 2025 has created renewed optimism among both developers and homebuyers.

“The removal of many complexities and disparities in the new DAP and building rules has helped rebuild trust in the sector,” he said.

Wahiduzzaman also highlighted the sector’s contribution to the national economy, saying the housing and construction industry not only provides shelter but also boosts government revenue, creates employment and supports more than 200 linkage industries, including steel and cement. He added that the construction sector contributes around 15 percent to the country’s overall economic growth.

REHAB Senior Vice-President Liaquat Ali Bhuiyan, Vice-Presidents Lion MA Auwal and Abdur Bishwas (Finance), Fair Committee Chairman Mohammad Akter Bishwas, Co-chairman Suruj Sardar and Director Sheikh Kamal, among others, were also present at the briefing.
