DITF-2026 secures Tk224cr export order, sales reach Tk393cr

The 30th Dhaka International Trade Fair (DITF-2026) generated export orders worth Tk 224.26 crore and on-site sales reached around Tk 393 crore during the month-long event, organisers said on Saturday.

The figures were announced at the fair’s closing ceremony held at the Bangladesh–China Friendship Exhibition Centre in Purbachal.

Commerce Adviser Sheikh Bashir Uddin attended the event as the chief guest and formally declared the fair closed, while Commerce Secretary Mahbubur Rahman presided over the programme.

FBCCI Administrator and Additional Secretary (Export) of the Ministry of Commerce Md Abdur Rahim Khan and Export Promotion Bureau (EPB) Vice-Chairman and Chief Executive Mohammad Hasan Arif were also present.

According to the organisers, data compiled from 329 local and foreign participating companies show that the fair secured potential export orders worth US$17.98 million, equivalent to Tk 224.26 crore.

Export orders were received mainly for diversified jute products, electrical and electronic goods, home appliances, cosmetics, hygiene products, processed foods, handloom items, crockery, home textiles, nakshi kantha, fabrics and related products.

The orders came from buyers in Afghanistan, Singapore, Hong Kong, Indonesia, India, Pakistan, Malaysia and Turkey.

The organisers said local sales of goods and services, including restaurants, stood at an estimated Tk 393 crore during the fair, marking a 3.42 percent increase compared to DITF-2025.

At the closing ceremony, awards were presented to outstanding pavilions, stalls and participating organisations in different categories. Based on criteria such as construction quality, architectural and aesthetic design, interior decoration, product presentation, customer service, satisfaction levels, compliance with allotment conditions, cleanliness and hygiene, digital content, contribution as exporters or manufacturers, and innovation, 40 organisations were selected as best performers.

A total of 329 local and foreign companies took part in this year’s fair, including 11 exhibitors from six countries — India, Turkey, Singapore, Indonesia, Hong Kong and Malaysia.

Products and services showcased and sold at the fair covered a wide range of cottage, micro, small, medium and large industries, including garments, leather and leather goods, jute and jute products, agricultural and agro-processed items, furniture, electrical and electronic products, cosmetics, home décor, toys, stationery, crockery, handicrafts, plastic and melamine products, herbal and toiletry items, imitation jewellery, as well as real estate products and services.
