The price of jet fuel used by airlines in Bangladesh has been increased, the Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission (BERC) said in a notice issued on Sunday afternoon. The new prices will take effect from midnight tonight.
Under the new pricing structure, jet fuel for domestic flights will now cost Tk159.52 per litre. For international flights, the new price has been set at $1.0358 per litre.
Previously, jet fuel for domestic flights was priced at Tk130.99 per litre, while the price for international flights stood at $0.8556 per litre.
The latest hike is expected to increase fuel-related operating costs for airlines.
