Bangladesh has extended the deadline for submitting bids under its Offshore Bidding Round 2026 by four months, moving it from November 30, 2026, to March 31, 2027. The move comes amid recent discussions with several reputed international oil companies (IOCs) and requests from the companies to make the bidding process more accessible.
As part of the initiative, the data sales package for the Offshore Bidding Round 2026 has also been made more readily accessible to interested companies.
The deadline extension and improved access to the data package are expected to encourage greater participation by international oil companies in the bidding round, according to the announcement.
The measures are aimed at providing interested companies with greater opportunities to assess the available offshore exploration data and prepare their bids before the revised deadline.
