The Bangladesh Chemical Industries Corporation (BCIC) has signed a consultancy agreement with Innovate Engineering & Development (IED) to provide supervision services for the construction of 34 buffer godowns across the country. The agreement was signed on Tuesday at BCIC Bhaban-2 in Motijheel, Dhaka.
These buffer godowns, being developed under a nationally significant project, aim to strengthen Bangladesh’s fertilizer storage and distribution infrastructure, enhancing agricultural supply chain resilience nationwide.
The agreement was signed by BCIC Project Director Engr. Md. Manjurul Hoque and IED CEO Engr. Rana Masud. Among others present were BCIC Deputy Chief Engineer (Civil) Engr. SM Mozammel Haque, Executive Engineer (Civil) Engr. Md. Tanvir Istiak Shaon, and from IED, Senior Manager Md. Mizanur Rahman, Senior Deputy Manager Jewel Rana, Deputy Manager Jobayer Khan, Assistant Manager Parvez Jhinuk, and Senior Officer Mubinul Hoque.
Speaking on behalf of the consulting team, Engr. Rana Masud described the project as not just a professional engagement but a national responsibility. He acknowledged the logistical challenges posed by supervising 34 construction sites spread across various districts but reaffirmed his team’s readiness to deliver.
“Innovate has agreed to undertake this project at a modest consultancy fee—not for profit alone, but out of a commitment to national development,” said Engr. Masud. “One of the sites is located in my home district, which adds a personal sense of responsibility to ensure its success.”
The BCIC Project Director called upon the consulting team to remain dedicated to the task and deliver high-quality outcomes. He expressed confidence in Innovate’s capabilities, citing the firm’s reputation for transparency and dependable performance in previous projects.
