Amirul Haque elected president of Chittagong Chamber

Mohammad Amirul Haque has been elected President of the Chittagong Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI) for the 2026–2027 term.

Md Amzad Hossain Chowdhury was elected Senior Vice-President, while Mohammad Mosiul Alam Swapan was elected Vice-President.

The election was held during a meeting of the newly elected Board of Directors at the World Trade Centre conference hall in Chattogram on 25 May 2026 under the supervision of the election board.

The meeting was attended by Chamber Administrator and Additional Divisional Commissioner (General) Md Motaher Hossain, Election Board Chairman Monowara Begum and board member Md Hedayet Ullah.

The presidium election was conducted under the chairmanship of newly elected director Md Nasir Uddin Chowdhury.

Newly elected president Mohammad Amirul Haque is Chairman of Seacom Group and has previously served as a director of the Chittagong Chamber for five terms.

He is regarded as one of the country’s prominent industrial entrepreneurs and has led Seacom Group’s expansion across shipping, logistics, cement, energy, LPG, edible oil, agriculture and real estate sectors.

Amirul Haque is also the founder and managing director of Premier Cement Mills PLC, one of Bangladesh’s leading cement manufacturers. Under his leadership, the company has received national and international recognition for corporate governance, productivity and industrial management standards.

Amirul Haque graduated in commerce from the University of Chittagong. He later earned an MBA in Leadership and Sustainability from the United Kingdom and has completed fellowships and professional training programmes at several reputed institutions at home and abroad.

He has also represented Bangladesh in various national and international business forums, conferences and seminars.
