Jet fuel prices reduced again within two weeks

Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission (BERC) has reduced the price of aviation fuel (jet fuel) for domestic flights by Tk 15 per litre.

Under the new pricing order, the rate for domestic routes has been cut from Tk 165.88 per litre to Tk 150.21 per litre. For international routes, the price has been reduced from $1.08 per litre to $0.98 per litre.

The revised rates were announced on Sunday (June 7). Earlier, BERC had lowered jet fuel prices on May 23. As a result, the fuel price has been reduced again within approximately 14 days.

According to a BERC notification, the new rates will take effect after midnight and remain in force until further notice.

BERC announced jet fuel prices for the first time in May 2025, stating that rates would be adjusted monthly in line with international market trends. Under the mechanism, domestic prices are increased when global prices rise and reduced when they fall.

Before the introduction of the new pricing framework, the Bangladesh Petroleum Corporation (BPC) had been responsible for setting jet fuel prices periodically. However, records show that fuel prices have been adjusted multiple times within a single month.
