Adani and Jabil launch India AI venture targeting $3tn market

India’s Adani Group has partnered with US manufacturing giant Jabil to establish a large-scale artificial intelligence and data centre infrastructure manufacturing platform, as both companies seek to capitalise on booming global demand for AI computing capacity.

The companies announced a strategic alliance on Tuesday aimed at building gigawatt-scale manufacturing capabilities for AI server racks and related infrastructure, targeting hyperscale cloud operators, colocation providers and enterprise data centres worldwide.

In a joint statement, the partners said the venture is positioned to address a global market opportunity worth more than $3tn over the next seven years.

The collaboration combines Jabil’s six decades of engineering and manufacturing expertise with Adani’s infrastructure network, renewable energy assets and expanding data centre operations in India.

The manufacturing platform will produce a range of critical data centre equipment, including AI racks, power distribution units, cooling systems, transformers, switchgear and thermal management technologies. The companies said the integrated approach would provide customers with an end-to-end supply chain solution under a single platform.

The announcement comes amid rapid growth in India’s data centre industry, fuelled by increasing adoption of artificial intelligence, cloud computing expansion and government-backed data localisation requirements.

Industry forecasts suggest India’s installed data centre capacity could reach between 5GW and 8GW by 2030, while global technology firms have collectively committed more than $50bn to data centre and AI-related investments in the country.

The partnership also supports Adani’s wider ambition to invest $100bn by 2035 in developing 5GW of green energy-powered hyperscale data centre capacity.

Jabil, which reported revenue of $29.8bn in fiscal 2025, has recently strengthened its capabilities in power management and thermal solutions through acquisitions including Hanley Energy Group and Mikros Technologies.

Gautam Adani, chairman of the Adani Group, said the venture would help position India as a major player in the global AI supply chain.

“The nations that can successfully integrate energy and computing power will define the coming decade,” he said. “This alliance with Jabil is a decisive step towards building India’s end-to-end AI infrastructure, from green power generation to advanced hardware manufacturing.”

Mike Dastoor, chief executive of Jabil, described India as one of the world’s fastest-growing AI markets and said the partnership would enable the companies to deliver integrated infrastructure solutions to both domestic and international customers.

He added that India’s skilled workforce and favourable business environment made it an attractive location for large-scale AI infrastructure manufacturing.
