Chevron has appointed Shu Xiong as President and Managing Director of its Bangladesh operations, effective from August 1, 2026, succeeding Eric M. Walker, who led the company’s Bangladesh business for the past six years.
Shu joins Chevron Bangladesh from the company’s China Business Unit, where she most recently served as Managing Director. In that role, she oversaw Chevron’s upstream operations and energy value-chain activities while strengthening partnerships across several joint venture operations.
Since joining Chevron in 2007, Shu has held a series of senior leadership positions spanning corporate strategy, forecasting, trading, operations and planning. She has advised senior executives on investment decisions, helped develop commercial opportunities and managed key relationships with partners and markets.
She holds a Master of Business Administration from Stanford University and a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance from the University of Houston.
Commenting on her appointment, Shu said she was looking forward to strengthening Chevron’s long-standing partnership with Bangladesh.
“I am excited to join the Bangladesh team, and I look forward to building on our 30-year partnership with the Government of Bangladesh and Petrobangla,” she said.

Chevron is the largest producer of natural gas in Bangladesh, supplying a significant share of the country’s domestic gas output through its operations in the Bibiyana, Jalalabad and Moulvibazar gas fields. The company has been operating in Bangladesh for more than three decades under production-sharing contracts with the government.
