The Titas Gas Transmission and Distribution Company Ltd has disconnected illegal gas connections during an operation in Chunukutia Chourasta, South Keraniganj.
The raid, conducted under the jurisdiction of Titas Gas Transmission and Distribution Company Limited (Zone-5, Zinzira) on Tuesday, was led by Executive Magistrate Milton Roy, attached to the Energy and Mineral Resources Division of the Ministry of Power, Energy, and Mineral Resources.
Illegal gas connections to ‘Al Madina Restaurant’ and an unnamed washing factory were dismantled as part of the drive. Approximately 45 feet of illegal pipelines were removed.
During the operation, Executive Magistrate Milton Roy sentenced Mohammad Shafik Ullah (34) to 15 days of simple imprisonment for his involvement and ordered his transfer to jail.
Seized items included one compressor, 25 feet of MS pipe, 20 feet of hose pipe, and one dual-burner stove.
The operation was conducted in coordination with the Dhaka District Administration and Keraniganj Upazila Administration. Senior officials from Titas Gas, including the Deputy General Manager, were present during the raid.
The confiscated materials have been handed over to the Sales Engineering Manager of Titas Gas Zone-5 for safekeeping.
