Hamid has instructed to shut all illegal natural gas connections to avoid Belly Road like incident.
The ministry made the instruction after launching the data Centre of pre-paid gas meter of the Karnaphuli gas distribution company Ltd in the port city on Wednesday.
“Cut the illegal gas connections which used for restaurants….the connections receive for household purposes only,” Nasrul said.
I will conduct audit after a month in this regard, he said, adding, if anyone will disrespect the directive then the officials to get punishment.
He also instructed to the gas distribution company to cut gas connections of default fertilizer factories. “The outstanding arrears stand Tk 5000 crore, mostly unpaid by the state-owned companies,” he said.
He, however, said the government did not allow any gas connections at unauthorized areas.
The minister did the government has a plan to introduce the smart prepaid connections to all consumers within three years.
The miniater, however, said the government will introduce smart fuel supply through automated system across the country within three years.
The single point mooring with double line will help to save over Tk 1000 crore through the government smart fuel supply system, he said.
