Emirates is heading into the winter travel season with strong bookings after carrying more than 8.6 million passengers in July and August, the airline said.
The Dubai-based carrier is currently operating at around 93% of its pre-disruption capacity, while demand from several key markets is running ahead of last year.
Passenger demand from South Africa, Brazil, India, Portugal, Egypt, Ghana, Colombia, Saudi Arabia and Pakistan has increased, while Nepal is also seeing strong demand through the Emirates-flydubai partnership.
More than 500,000 passengers arrived in Dubai on Emirates flights in late August, up 7% year on year, as residents returned ahead of the new academic year and visitors travelled to the city for late-summer breaks.
The airline has also stepped up investment in its fleet and onboard products.
Since January, Emirates has received 18 aircraft, including 11 Airbus A350s and seven Boeing 777 freighters. A further six A350s are due to be delivered by the end of the year.
Its aircraft retrofit programme has now covered 104 aircraft, taking the total number of aircraft offering Premium Economy and the latest cabin products to 137.
Premium Economy is now available on flights to 90 destinations, while nearly 50 Emirates aircraft are equipped with Starlink high-speed inflight connectivity.
Emirates is also expanding its network and increasing flight frequencies for the winter season.
Helsinki will join the airline’s network on October 1, with the route operated by an Airbus A350. Additional frequencies are planned for Accra, Tokyo Narita, Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi.
One of Emirates’ Delhi services will also be upgraded to an Airbus A380.
The expansion comes as the airline prepares for continued demand across key international markets during the winter travel season.
