The ministry of Power, Energy and Mineral Resources will get 100 days crash programmes to solve immediate crisis on power and energy supply chain.
State minister for power and energy Nasrul Hamid, who took charge of the ministry for third consecutive times, instructed to the officials of the power division and the energy and mineral resources division (EMRD) for taking the crash programmes on Sunday.
He called upon the officials for playing more active and responsible roles to ensure smooth supply of power and energy.
The minister feared the challenges on power and energy supply will be intensified in the coming days over the current global crisis. The crisis will be overcome through work with dedication and responsibility by officials, he pointed out.
He, however, also asked to the energy and mineral resources division to expedite gas exploration programmes.
He also instructed to install the gas pipeline between Bhola and Barisal to ensure best utilisation of Bhola’s gas.
The minister also hinted to introduce dynamic pricing formula in fuel prices immediately.
Power division senior secretary Md Habibur Rahman, BEPRC chairman Md Mokabbir Hossain, energy and mineral resources division secretary Md Nurul Alam, Bangladesh Petroleum Corporation (BPC) chairman ABM Azad, SREDA chairman Monira Sultana, Petrobangla chairman Zanandra Nath Sarkar, BPDB chairman Md Mahbubur Rahman and REB chairman Ajoy Kumar Chakrabarti also attended at the view exchanges meeting.
