Engineers work to restore Excelerate LNG terminal operations after fire incident

Local and international technical teams are working around the clock to repair a technical fault after fire incident at Excelerate Energy’s Floating Storage and Re-gasification Unit (FSRU) and restore operations as quickly as possible, according to PetroBangla.

The state-owned Petrobangla said every effort is being made to complete the repairs at the earliest opportunity. It added that further updates will be provided as soon as new information becomes available.

Following the incident, household consumers suffered considerably. In addition, the supply of gas to power plants was significantly curtailed.

Petrobangla apologised to gas consumers for the temporary disruption and thanked customers for their patience while repair work continues.
